  • 2 cups All-purpose flour
  • 1 cup Granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon Baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon Salt
  • ½ cup Unsalted butter (cold, cubed)
  • ¾ cup Whole milk
For the Strawberries
  • 2 cups Fresh strawberries (sliced)
For the Whipped Cream
  • 1 cup Heavy whipping cream (chilled)

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
  2. Whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt in a large bowl until well combined.
  3. Cut in the cold, cubed butter using a pastry cutter or your fingers until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  4. Add the whole milk and stir gently until just combined.
  5. Drop spoonfuls of the batter onto a lined baking sheet. Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until golden brown.
  6. Toss the sliced strawberries with a bit of sugar in a bowl while the shortcakes cool. Let them sit for about 10 minutes.
  7. Whip the chilled heavy cream in a mixing bowl until soft peaks form.
  8. Assemble your shortcakes by slicing them in half and layering with the strawberries and whipped cream.
