Ingredients
Method
Prepare the Chicken
- Pound the chicken breasts to an even thickness using a meat mallet. This ensures even cooking and tenderness.
- Season both sides of the chicken breasts with salt and black pepper.
- In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the chicken breasts and cook for 5-7 minutes on each side until golden brown and cooked through (internal temperature should reach 165°F).
- Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside on a plate.
Make the Sauce
- In the same skillet, reduce the heat to medium and add minced garlic. Sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant, being careful not to burn it.
- Pour in the chicken broth and bring to a simmer, scraping up any browned bits from the bottom of the skillet. This adds flavor to the sauce.
- Stir in the heavy cream, parmesan cheese, thyme, basil, and red pepper flakes (if using). Allow the sauce to simmer for 3-5 minutes until it thickens slightly.
Combine Chicken and Pasta
- Return the cooked chicken to the skillet, spooning some sauce over the top. Let it simmer for an additional 2-3 minutes to heat through.
- Meanwhile, cook the pasta according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
- Toss the cooked pasta with the remaining sauce in the skillet, ensuring it is well coated.
Serve
- Plate the pasta and top with the chicken. Garnish with chopped parsley for a fresh finish.
- Serve immediately and enjoy this delicious, creamy dish that is sure to impress!
