Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease and flour two round cake pans.
- Whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, and salt in a bowl.
- Cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy, then add the eggs one at a time.
- Stir in the vanilla extract and milk, then fold in the dry ingredients until just combined.
- Pour half the batter into each cake pan, add strawberry jam to the center of one, then cover with remaining batter.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean. Cool in the pans for 10 minutes before transferring.
