Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare your cake pans with grease and parchment.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together 1 ¾ cups of flour, ¾ cup of cocoa powder, 2 teaspoons of baking powder, and 1 ½ cups of sugar.
  3. In another bowl, beat together 3 eggs and ½ cup of softened butter and gradually mix in 1 cup of heavy cream.
  4. Gently fold the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined to maintain a light texture.
  5. Divide the batter evenly between prepared pans and bake for 30-35 minutes.
  6. For the ganache, heat 1 cup of heavy cream in a saucepan and pour it over 8 oz of chopped dark chocolate. Stir until smooth.
